24 hours StealthSim SE Status update:

- carrier: Vodafone.de
- calls in/out: working
- sms in/out: working
- data: GPRS/EDGE are working, 3G doesn't
- transition to other celltowers: no problem, signal everytime
- location services: the celltower method works, GPS doesn't

So far, so good.. For further infos just ask.

Late night yesterday I decided to check the cell tower transition using TurboSIM+ZeroG.

I usually drive around the town during the daytime with my iPhone. And I always get No Service after driving around a bit.

For my surprise crusing the freeway/downtown at 3:00am I didn't have one single No Service. Received calls normally, used my GPS retrieving the maps through EDGE at all times. Everything ways VERY STABLE, I really was surprised.

What might happen? I think in urban areas (or times of the day) where there are many cell phones per cell tower, the cell phones must re-authenticate every once in a while, giving other cell phones their turn to authenticate/operate and this forces the authentication failure using the test IMSI method.

Did you noticed something like your carrier beeing doubled (the normal one, and one showing 3G at the end)?
And also which version are you using? I had a timed out signal on v403.. the signal bars have been full but if i tried to called me my phone apeared turned off..
I'll start my extended (daily base) test of universal sim on monday, still got to do some tests on the stealthsim (which acts better then expected, also the basebandlog doesnt look bad)..

jjesurun - http://www.gsm-traders.com/shop/prod...5&cat=0&page=1

nvidia - I am using a T-mobile sim card that is 3 years old (with rounded edges and such) and have to agree it could have problems connecting with these sim solutions. I am testing the StealthSim right now and when initially putting it in, it took about 2 hours of shifting to get the phone to actually read something.

What I did was put the StealthSim in the tray, sliding it down as much as possible, taking scotch tape and securing it in place so it wouldn't slide upwards when inserting, and that is how I got mine to connect. Pretty tricky.

I am using i-SmartPhone on Tmobile USA and has worked for 2 weeks. But it only still works because I moved the sim back to a regular phone and moved it back into the 3g when I lost signal. I was unable to connect to a tower after I lost signal in a movie theater.

All of you that claim that its working, or seem to still work, find a place where there IS NO SIGNAL and sit there for 2 hours, and then see if it will re-register onto the network. Five bucks says it wont.

ok here the list of people I sent tornadosim for testing. Remember when you get it sandpaper simcard and the tornadosim ic to make it as smooth as possible. I also include a few very thin double sided tape to hold both together.
