epic "I don't even remember which company I am today" fail

note that for those who received their magic card and managed to get signal, it'd be interesting to produce a baseband log, to try to understand how harmful for the network they are and how long the unlock is going to be valid (my bets being on very/not much, since those fine folks aren't telling).

To do that, you'll need a pwned phone and perform the following

1) Get signal

2) SSH to your phone, type
Quote:
launchctl unload /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.DumpBasebandCrash.plist
3) Call *#5005*78283# on your phone. Enter a dummy file name

4) Fetch the new file produced in /Library/Logs/Baseband.

You can simplify this and do not need a jailbroken iPhone: :hack:

Call *#5005*78283# and enter the description, even with a brand new unboxed iPhone.

Connect telephone to iTunes. If iTunes recognizes the diagnostic information, you will be asked whether you would like to send the data to apple :=> No way...but it has been copied from the iPhone to the PC/MAC

On a Windows machine, you will find the log in

C:\Dokumente und Einstellungen\<InsertYourUsername>\Anwendungsdaten \Apple Computer\Logs\CrashReporter\MobileDevice\<iPhoneNa me>\Baseband\

or for englisch windows it should be something like

C:\Documents and Settings\<InsertYourUsername>\Application Data\Apple Computer\Logs\CrashReporter\MobileDevice\<iPhoneNa me>\Baseband\

On Mac ? I don't know but should be at a similar location where itunes is storing the backup and sync information....

At least this is how it works for me since Version 1.11

I would like to remind everyone that I'm already in possession of a couple of those logs and that it would be good to keep this information centralized since there's sensible information about your phone in those logs.

So don't give the logs to anyone who asks. I didn't mess with the other guys logs (the ones I have already) so I won't mess with yours as well.

Also, I would like to assure you that your log won't be a closed source of information for the community. Some people have information and retain it to themselves making the whole 'getting into the scene' very tough, me and nvidia are going to write about our findings in www.theiphonewiki.com but if any personal information comees with your file (including who sent it etc) will NOT be revealed.

Anyone who's interested in helping should send me a PM and I'll send you instructions.

Thanks

Unfortunately that process will end up with a very castrated version of the logs missing important information that'll be required to understand what's going on - that's why you need to disable the reporter service and a jailbroken phone.

If you lack the common sense to understand why some information is private and other is public, it's your problem, not mine this is not done specifically to annoy you ... as you said there's absoluetely no problem to share those logs, and indeed a common place for them would be fine.

Note that we only need logs from YesSim/FuriousSim though.

Hi, I thanks for package. I tried using the RJ45 Yesup but when running YesUP client 1.5 I get the "system cannot find a file" error.

Well, the State Dump is contained for both methods

You need to get the driver and bung the DLL into system32.

Although, its a network connector - I couldnt figure out how to connect it and get it working.

Which DLL though? The one from the YesUP USB Drivers? I put the i386 DLLs into c:\windows\system32 and even c:\windows\system32\drivers ...

The "DLL not found" went away, so it loads up the Yessim Client for RJ45. Then when I click to read info, it gives back "system cannot find file"... which file? where is it supposed to be? That's where I am lost.

Deco my phone is back to no service I'll send you baseband state dump, starting with phone off, then phone on...
