OK I have seen too many guides so confusing. here are the simple steps that u need to follow.

1. jailbreak ur iphone downgrading to 1.1.1 and bring it back to 1.1.2 (follow this guide http://hackint0sh.org/forum/showthread.php?t=15849)

2. install SSH if not done yet

3. download the turbo files
http://www.indamud.com/files/turbosim.zip

and copy them into the iphone in a new folder called /turbo using SSH

4. insert ur AT&T sim in the TURBO tray and insert it into the iphone

5. type this command lines

launchctl unload -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.CommCenter.plist
./turbo-iphone-smsreset
./turbo-info
./turbo-rm-apps
./turbo-app ./applesaft.trb
launchctl load -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.CommCenter.plist


6. now go in settings - phone - sim application u ll find the APPLESAFT button, press SET and then ACCEPT

7. remove the TURBO tray and put ur sim card into the turbo tray and u r done!!!

Some tips to make it more n00b-friendly

You will need WiFi setup on both your iPhone and your computer. Also, both must be in same network so they can communicate themselves.

Inside Zip file, copy the entire folder named "turbosim" by using any SCP tool, like WinSCP for Windows or (put the name of Mac SCP tool here). kiwi suggests usage of /turbo as its name, please note it down, you will need it really soon.

Also, after copy is completed and while you are still with SCP tool, you should enter on this newly created folder, select all files and give them execution permission (modes 777 or rwxrwxrwx will work -- they are exactly the same but displayed in different notations, chose one and use it)

These command lines should be typed from a SSH session you must open between your phone and your computer. OR by using vt100 terminal on phone itself.

Also, to execute the ./turbo-* apps, you must go to folder you previously uploaded. If you named folder as /turbo (remember i told you to note it down), then you must type
cd /turbo

and then proceeding to execute launchctl and other commands.

Besides these 2 tips, i think no one can make it more easy than this.

your saying this will work with my rogers sim card?

Excuse me, what do you mean "insert ur AT&T sim in the TURBO tray and insert it into the iphone" , is it the sim come with the iphone?

So far, I've downgraded my OTB UK 1.1.2 iphone to 1.1.1, jailbroke and activated. Now then, should I bring it back to 1.1.2 before installing the turbosim or after? or the order of the two steps doesn't matter at all? I find the steps listed here are different from the one at http://www.hackint0sh.org/forum/show...0&postcount=82

you need to install and run the TurboSIM software under 1.1.1, then go thru the jailbreak process and update to 1.1.2 again. After completing the jailbreak, you should have an unlocked phone.

So it does not matter if there is no operator with Iphone in your country yet?
It can be unlocked as long as you have turbosim card?

I think this aint right. The order is wrong!

1st downgrade to 1.1.1
2nd jailbreak and activate IN ORDER TO BE ABLE TO INSTALL SOME STUFF
3rd install BSD Subsystem / CommunitySources / openSSH / OctoPrep
4th program the TurboSIM
5th upgrade to 1.1.2
6th jailbreak again

also to repeat this once again, the phone will NOT be unlocked by proceeding so, the TurboSIM just PRETENDS your SIM being an original ATandT SIM!
