Ok, so lately I have been trying to install iAtkos v7 on my old Athlon 3000+ PC. My newest plan was to do a dual boot between XP and OS X using a tutorial that I found on youtube, as well as some prior knowledge that I had gained from reading other tutorials about installing iAtkos. The installation happened without a problem, but when I went to reboot the computer, I ran into problems. I see the loading screen with the apple, then a blue screen flashes, then I get a gray screen with a cursor on it. That is as far as it will go. I am able to move the mouse and every so often the screen flashes. I have no idea what I did wrong but my specs are as followed.

AMD Athlon 64 3000+
Biostar CRU51-M7 Board
1GB Ram
160GB Seagate Barracuda SATA HDD
Sparkle GeForce 7300 GPU

Any Suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi everybody!

For over a week now, I have been trying to install iAtkos, and everytime I try to launch the installation, it freezes when the " Extension "com.apple.driver.ACPI_SMC_PlatformPlugin" has immediate dependencies on both com.apple.kernel and com.apple.kpi componenets; use only one style " message appears.

I have tried many things, such as cpus=1, ... , but nothing has worked.
I recently stumbled upon a thread written by f41qu3, advising us to follow this protocol : http://www.hackint0sh.org/f200/43669.htm

Unfortunately, even typing -s doesn't give me a prompt.

I really don't know what to do. I have tried with iAtkos v1 and v7.
Can someone help me?

I had been running iDeneb 10.5.5 very successfully until yesterday, when I decided to upgrade to 10.5.8. :fail

So, before upgrading, I have backed up all my extensions and kernel and made a fresh install of the iDeneb 10.6 Lite Installation DVD.

All the installation process went fine, BUT, after the first reboot the system hangs on a blue screen.

Using -v and -x does not show any error message and hangs on blue screen;
Using -s -v -x goes to the command prompt shell, but I am not able to type any command as the system appears to be freezed.

Any idea?

thanks a lot.
iDeneb:
Installed VOODOO kernel and Chamaleon 2 boot loader

Update:
Tried other kernels and other bootloaders and the problem is exactly the same.

hi,

i'm noob on the OSx86 world.
I'm trying to install iDeneb 1.6 on a Acer Aspire One 150 with an external USB optical unit.
i would like to dual boot with win xp (installed in the first partition)
i prepared disk with almost half HD with empty, unallocated space.
IDeneb cd boots, enters setup and after some dialogs, it asks where to install, offering only the CD unit marked in red (impossible to install, of course).
I can run "disk utility", which shows me, under "initialize", partitions on disk BUT i can't edit then neither create a new one into empty space. It seems it only offers to erase while drive (which i didn't try, since i would take my old partitions).

SO: what i should do to have iDeneb installed into a new partition AND make it dual boot with XP?

Thanks!

I'm thinking about doing the whole hackintosh thing with iDeneb. I can't really find a guide to match my system, though. I have an AMD processor which makes it a little harder to hackintosh I guess, and the only Intel machine I have is a really old Celeron on an 82845G chipset.

Here are the full specs on my AMD machine:

AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ 3GHZ SSE2/SSE3
ECS nForce 9M motherboard
ATI Radeon HD 4870 1GB
SoundBlaster Live! 24-bit internal sound card

I can't find any info on the sound card, mainly. The chipset on the motherboard is the nForce 710a.

I acquired iDeneb and booted from CD with -v. It worked just fine and the only thing I could see close to an error was about not being able to enumerate a USB device (about 100 times this came up). Dunno what that was, because when it got to the "Pick a language" screen my mouse and keyboard worked just fine. I still have some questions. What do I need to do to get my Radeon 4870 to work in OSX? And the sound card? Ethernet? I found .kexts that supposedly work for both of them, but I can't be sure.

I can't install until I get a spare hard drive, which should be tomorrow, but I want to get some of this answered before I start.

When I boot from disk into disk utility, it does not pick up my HD. I have my DVD rom plugged in through a sata cable and my HD is through IDE. would this have anything to do with it or something else. I have a new gigabyte MA78LM board with dual bios. There are lots of options so I'm still trying a few different things. Any suggestions would be great.
