Hello I recently purchased a cheap Samsung R519 laptop from argos :)

As I am new I was wondering what settings I should use?
I recently downloaded IATKOS v7 managed to get it to install....(after ACPI support was disabled in the BIOS) but it would not boot after a successful installation...

My specs are below:
Intel GM45/PM45 Chipset?
Display 15.6" (1366 x 768) WXGA
CPU: Intel Pentium Dual Core Processor T4200
Memory: 2GB DDR 800mhz - Samsung M4 70T5663EH3-CF7 PC2-6400
Graphics Card: GMA 4500M - INTEL GMA X4500M internal shared graphics.
Optical Drive: DVD±RW (±R DL) - TSSTcorp TS-L633B
Audio: Realtek High Definition Audio (0269h)
Ethernet: - Realtek PCIe FF Family controller
Wireless LAN: - Atheros AR9285 WiFi Chipset
Webcam: SCB-0320N
Hard Drive: 250 GB Serial ATA - ST920315AS
touchpad: synaptics touchpad

Also worth noting I had to disable ACPI Support in the BIOS in order to install Windows 7, would the same apply for IATKOS etc? Why does this happen?

Kindest Regards

Chris

How:OSX for VMWare, Compact OSX86 for USB Thumb Drive, iPC Final for External USB HDD

How: OSX Instance for VMWare, Compact OSX86 for USB Thumb...

How:OSX for VMWare, Compact OSX86 for USB Thumb Drive, iPC Final for External USB HDD

How: OSX Instance for VMWare, Compact OSX86 for USB Thumb Drive, iPC Final for External USB Hard Disk Drive HDD

Here are my details:

HARDWARE:
Thinkpad T61 with Win XP Pro
4 G RAM Sticks (3+ recog by XP)

4 GB USB Stick / Thumb Drive
Ordinary Single Layer DVD Discs (No double layers)

WD External USB HDD - 320 GB - 80 GB Remaining.

SOFTWARE:
I curently have the following downloaded:

---------------------------------------------
VMWare Instance of OSX:
Mac OS X Leopard - 1.89GB
---------------------------------------------
I am guessing all I need is to run it via VMWare.
Is it possible to use Pwnage Tool on this to create an iPhone Custom Firmware that can be installed via iTunes
(direct via VM OSX... OR... via iTunes on HOST Windows after creating IPSW in Guest OSX in 2 steps)?

---------------------------------------------
USB Instances of OSX86:
iPortable OSx86 Leopard 10.5.4 USB Stick Image.zip - 2.41 GB
iPortable OSx86 Leopard 10.5.4 USB + Software Pack - 2.43 GB
iGenius Intel®MacCare.dmg - 2.48 GB
---------------------------------------------
How can I push these instances of Portable USB OSX86 onto my existing 4GB USB Thumb Drive without having a Mac at my disposal ?
They need to be Bootable Running copies of the OSX86 that can act as recovery tool / Live DVD-like TEST instance that does not affect any of the existing stuff on the T61?
Is that what these USB OSX86 Images are suppossed to be/ do?
OR.. Are these suppossed to become 'Installers.

Also, Is the only way to get them on the USB by using the tools in the VMWare instance of the MAC OSX as an intermediary step?

---------------------------------------------
iPC OSX86 Final ISO:
iPC_OSx86_10_5_6_Universal_PPF5_Final.rar - 3.42 GB
---------------------------------------------
Will complete downloading by tomorrow
---------------------------------------------

If I choose to later, use this to install by creating a separate partition on the WD External HDD?
Is it possible to create / install it such that the WinXP & the EXISTING INTERNAL HDD ....REMAIN UNTOUCHED?

---------------------------------------------

I have just finished my machine which consists of an Intel E7200 Processor and a DG31PR. I have successfully installed Kalyway 10.5.2 and have it running not 100% but I am running it currently.

My question is about 10.6.0. I do have a retail disk for it, I have read that both of these components are compatible with 10.6. I have tried installing the retail disk. However, about halfway through installation, It wants me to restart and my installation is no longer any good, so I have to go back to Kalyway. So I am wondering, is there a Distro available for 10.6 or higher, or should I stay with the retail disk and try making adjustments?

Thanks
