I've tried pressing HOME+POWER no results whatsoever. I tried plugging it in to NUMEROUS usb cables (chargers, computer, mac, pc) no results.

THE PHONE DID WORK.... now it just shut off and will not come back to life. WHAT CAN I TEST FOR TO MAKE IT WORK AGAIN?

My iPhone 2G was dropped, the top glass cracked, everything was still working fine. I scraped away the glass hoping to replace the glass myself, after the scraping work done, digitizer & LCD are still working, but the LCD display faded, images and colors not sharp as before, see photo link below.

Could this be caused by bad LCD or bad borad? I realized there are different boards, mid-board, logic board, communication board, etc, which board is for the display? Appreciate for any help.
1) If you want to discuss it, discuss HERE, not on youtube.
2) Yeah, it's real. If you think it's fake, well, doesn't matter to me.
3) No, it's NOT released. (I'm posting it just because I think some people would be amused)
4) Yes, it's really slow. (and that's among many other reasons/problems it's not released)

Hello folks of Hackint0sh. After months of reading and learning the incredible amount of information this site has provided to me I've finally registered in need of some advice.

I bought an iPhone 2g for my girlfriend who promptly broke it in less than a month. It took fall from only a few feet high and landed on its side apparently damaging the LCD on the inside, but somehow not the glass or digitizer, which both look and work great. This seems to be an uncommon case that Google has failed me.

On the left side of the phone are multi-colored vertical lines that cover a good quarter of the screen and still remain even when the phone is off. After much searching I've read posts that say that the iPhone 2g's display assembly (glass, digitizer, and lcd) are fused, or glued together creating a very costly entire unit ($150ish.)

Now because the phone only cost me $150 I'm less than thrilled to buy the full assembly which seems to be the good idea and take a chance at separating the digitizer/glass from the lcd, and purchasing a new lcd at only $30ish.
My question is, is this possible? I have the time, patience, and a hair dryer somewhere if anyone has any information to share about the likelihood of being able to pull this off. Thanks for reading.

Possible Water Damage?????

Sorry this is going to be a long explaination, hope someone will help me diagnose the problem with my iPhone.

I just bought a used 2G iPhone 8GB iPhone. It had a cracked screen but it worked fine. Only other problem it had is that it keeps restarting when it goes to standby mode.

In order to get it back to the home screen I have to connect it to my PC, then only it will stay on. Not only that, when on the home screen, if I hold down the power button, it won't show me the "Slide to power off" screen. In order for me to show the "Slide to power off" screen, I would have to hold on to the power button when I am restarting the iPhone and when its showing the Apple logo.

I opened up the iPhone to see what was wrong with it. I found that from the inside, under the headphone jack, the water indicator was red. But when I further opened up the iPhone, the water indicator on top of the mother board is still white.

So maybe, I am guess it is a partial water damage. So is there a way to fix the iPhone? It keeps rebooting when left idle, which means, I can't use it at all as a phone or an iPod.

I bought a battery and did a DIY. The battery install was easy.

But now my screen insn't working.

I have assembled and reassembled numerous times. Still nothing. I check all the connectors and they seem to be connected snuggly. (The connection 3 was very difficult to get back in.)

The phone is working. If I insert my sim card, it rings. The home button works, the top button works. Everything is ok, expect for the screen. No image!

Any ideas what the problem could be>? Google wasn't any help.

Here's what happened:
one day i came back to my house and plugged the iphone for recharge, it didnt start recharging so i thought the cable is dead.
after few minutes the battery was depleted.
at the same day my phone fell twice, noting too harsh tho.
next day i got new cable, and it seemed ok, it was charging but then i noticed the home button dosent work anymore.
ok i lived with that.
few days later the phone fell again and its dead since then.

its a 16GB 3g iphone. i bought it used for really cheap.
i decided to try and fix it myself because the prices are really high to fix this thing.
I thought its the bottom part of the phone cuz this is where the home button and the charging connector are located, so i ordered that part.
today i replaced it but nothing, phone still dead.
now im clueless and don't know what to do. any suggestions?
tnx

Drop Iphone 3G Untouched

So yea my mom recently got her iphone 3G
and long story short she drop it like 10-15 inches off the ground with case on

Now It sometimes does not get signal
Most of the time get FULL BARS , but can't call out whatsoever

I tested 3.0 , 3.0.1 , 3.1.2 custom ... all failed
I notice if i drop it again, it works but would randomly stop working.. still full bars but no calls out or in whatsoever or sometimes no bars lol

I am using T-Mobile via UltraSn0w unlock .. Please Help
The phone itself it still under warranty, but if i get it swap out.. it most likely be a 3.1 which it not unlock-able yet..

and if i get it "diagnosed" then warranty would be gone..

I got several mix opinions .. some say motherboard others say just the antenna is mess up ... some even say the sim reader ( but wouldn't that give me a sim card error?)

Since i can drop it 5 inch of the ground to get it working again, but slight movement of the phone like putting it on a table or something - would cause call out/in to stop working .. what could it be? ..

or could it just be a lose connector?..

Any Help would be greatly appreciated !
Thanks!
