I used an Iphone 3g 8gb for 6 months while with T-Mobile. I did not have too many problems. I just purchased an Iphone 3g S 16gb for use with AT&T. My problem is I have no reception in my home. The map they showed me at the store shows Great to Good coverage in my area. So in an attempt to keep my service and phone I was wondering if there is a way to Call, sms, and mms using my WiFi connection. I have read a little bit about Icall but do not know the full capabilities of the app (will it let me send/recieve sms mms) or if there is something different out there. I can't get itunes to recognize the sim. I tried everything.

I restored my phone to 3.0 and it is stuck in emergency calls only. I just want to be at the screen where it shows the apps. When i plug it into itunes it says "The sim card inserted in this Iphone does not appear to be supported"
The phone came from the U.K.

I am aware that the phone is locked and know that Blacksnow came out today but i can't use it because the phone is stuck in emergency calls only.
