    Default Windows / OS X Time Sync Fix by Zephyroth

    I am posting this because I was having problems getting the time to sync between my Windows 7 and OS X installs in my dual boot setup. After some research I found that this fix was the easiest and best fix. The only problem is that I could not find a link for the file anywhere. After some IRC help I cam across the file. I am posting it here to help others that have the same annoying problem.

    ALL CREDIT GOES TO Zephyroth. I AM JUST SHARING HIS WORK WITH OTHERS.

    If there was a reason that this file was so hard to find, or if the publisher would rather it not be shared publicly, just PM me and I will remove it from my server and delete the thread.

    This file was taken from a IPC distro. I have renamed the file. I loaded it myself and can attest to ir running on my iATKOS 10.5.6 machine. Run the file on the OS X side of things and the time sync problem should be gone.

    P.S. Can we get a sticky on this so that it is easy for people to find?

    Thumbs up Works great

    Thanks so much for sharing this. It fixed the clock time issue for me dual booting Vista 64 & Leopard 10.5.6

    I second making this post sticky!

    Another easy way you fix this is by setting Windows' time to the real time at your location, and then telling OSX you're in Iceland. this will automatically set your timezone to GMT, and OS X will not try to adjust the time stored in your CMOS according to your timezone.

    Best way i think is to make Windows use the bios clock as a UTC one and not as a local time. Windows is the one making the mess of time on your system so fix it on that side.

    In registry do the following change to registry restart and wola ! sync'd clocks ! Both Windows & Mac will now use UTC time from Bios

    Easiest way is to paste the following text into a file ending in .reg and open it from explorer (in windows of course) it will do the change for you.

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\TimeZoneInformation]
    "RealTimeIsUniversal"=dword:00000001
