What Netbook for Triple boot?
Sorry for the cross post, but no one has helped over in the hardware forum.

I am looking for a recommendation on what to buy. I have looked at Mac OS X Netbook Compatibility Chart but come away more confused what I should buy.
I hate to say it but my first priority for it is to test Win 7/IE8/9. Second to that is to have a small portable Ubuntu LAMP desktop, and third would be to have a backup Mac OSX. I figured I might as well get some advice now instead of regretting it later.
So I guess that I am looking for a well rounded machine. Battery life is not a huge one (I say that now and I am sure I will want some to watch movies and have a long coding session on my next trip across the country
). Since it will have 3 different OSes, I probably want a 200GB+ drive. I would rather spend a little more and get the right machine then try and shoehorn one only to beat my head against the wall.
Thanks for any help you can provide!

Hi,
Maybe what you're asking is very hard.
For what you really want there is none that I know.

Thanks for your response. I respect that implementing this setup might be hard, but surely a recommendation is not.
In turn I find it hard to believe that there is no netbook out there that can't coexist with a triple boot of Win7, MacOSX and Linux. Logic leads me to believe that it can happen:
• there are netbooks that can separately boot Win7, MacOSX, Linux
• there are boot loader setups that can triple boot these OSes
I could very well be missing something, not being knowledgeable with netbooks or the hackintosh community. Am I missing something?
Currently, I am not asking for specifics of how to do it, just what would be a recommended netbook for this setup so as to not buy a netbook that I cannot do this with later.

Hi,
I respect your opinion and sure it's very logical.
Yes, we are not talking about setup, because triple boot can be done.
I have 2 of these netbooks myself and love it, but just wonder if you really know that while they are supper portable, nice for quick email and browsing the net, they don't have the power that you require to do your Win 7 tests and your mac performance.
For win7 x64 to perform fairly well, you're looking at about 4GB RAM and a very decent duo core CPU, and the same for Mac os to really enjoy it.
Yes, you can have them on less power hardware, but then you may not like their performance. Look at the requirement to upgrade to win Vista from XP, and win7 even require better hardware.
Yes, it can be done but those netbooks were loaded with windows XP for quite a long time while the rest of computers are either in Vista or 7. Do you know why? And also these are classified as Netbook rather than ultra portable laptop.
I hope that you get one that will serve your purpose well.
Regards,
