[Triple Boot Support] Disk Utility fails to create a MACOS Partition
I am using the Zephyroth 10.5.2 version since my laptop is an AMD. (I tried Kalyway and it wouldent boot).
Anyway, I already have Vista and Ubuntu installed on my drive and do not want to remove them, I have been trying to follow this guide to triple boot:
Since Vista and Ubuntu are already installed, and am following it from "D. It's time to install Mac OS X86 finally." I have a 250GB drive and used the last 15 gigs to create the FAT32 partition.
However, when I attempt to use the Disk Utility to erase the FAT32 partition and create a HFS+ (Journalling) partition, it fails every time. It seems to be reading my disk completely incorrectly.
At times it can see all the partitions ok but cannot see the free space at the end, other times it thinks there is an insanely large chunk of unpartitioned space near the beginning of the disk that does not exsist.
All attempts to erase the FAT32 partition and turn it into a HFS+ partition fail with the Disk Utility messing up and deleting the FAT32 partition but not managing to create the HFS+ partition.
I am new at this too and ran into a similar situation with 3 different patched distros. OSX disk utility was able to see the Fat32 partition and erase it, but it could not re-format it as osx Extended - Journalled.
But this worked: Instead of erasing/formatting as OSX Extended (Journalled), I was able to successfully erase/format as osx Extended (not Journalled). When that worked, I simply re-erased/formatted as osx Extended - Journalled. I was then able to install.
