Dual boot Windows XP & Mac OS X on two hard drives - boot loader / manager solutions?
I recently received a new work laptop (Dell Latitude E6410) loaded with Windows XP on it, with whatever standard boot loader comes with Windows. I have successfully added a modular bay HDD that is running Mac OS X 10.6.3, which has Chameleon (RC4) installed. I can select which hard drive to boot from in the BIOS, but neither the Windows boot loader can boot Mac OS X nor can Chameleon boot Windows.
I am looking to keep my work drive intact if possible, but I would like to have a single boot loader that can manage both operating systems on separate hard drives. I'm not sure if either of the standard Windows / Chameleon boot loaders can be modified, or if I ought to install a new boot loader on my Mac drive or a USB drive.
Does anyone have any experience / ideas with this? I've searched and seen some similar posts, but for the most part what I've read is to a) keep using the BIOS to select the boot drive or b) install a Windows 7 bootloader, but I'd prefer not messing with my work drive.
Thanks for any help, tips or links you can share!
Dual booting win xp and mac os x snow leopard in 2 seperate hard drive
I am also having trouble booting snow leopard and window xp in two different hard drive on my 2004 Alienware Area 51 7500 (Trying to triple boot Win XP;MAC OS X leopard; and MAC OS X Snow Leopard)...
one drive is containing a MBR with window xp and the other hard drive is a GPD with 2 partition (one partition is already installed mac os x leopard 10.5.6 but can't boot it and the othe is for Snow Leopard).. is there a Bootloader that can dual boot both operating system? Or how about installing the operating systems? It would be great if someone can help.
