Red face Error: attempting to read boot configuration

A friend of mine made this awesome hackintosh computer for me and I"m afraid I messed it up! The mac side froze up and I did a hard reset. It went into windows for some reason but I didn't want it to load so I did another reset. But I decided that i did need to get something off the windows side, so when the screen came up asking to choose mac or pc I choose the PC side. Now I keep getting an error that reads:

    File: \Boot\BCD

    Status: 0xc000000f

Info: "an error occurred while attempting to read the boot configuration data"

I don't have any of the CD's. I'd just like to get back to the selection screen and choose the mac side but I keep getting this error. What did I do to it?? What should I do from here? The mac side is leopard and the pc side is vista. I'm pretty novice with computer trouble shooting but I follow directions well. Please let me know if you have any words of wisdom!
    (thanks in advance!)

    Update:
Found an iso image of windows recovery disc, burned it, booted from CD and it fixed the boot error on the PC side. Then it would only boot directly to windows and not give me the option of booting to OSX. So I installed this chameleon software and forced it to recognize OSX. Now it gives me a black screen with white writing that lets me choose the operating system I would like to boot (note: this is very different from the screen I used to have which was a graphic representation with icons hoovering above cylinders). So now when I select OSX and try to boot it I get a kernel error with no other explanation other then "restart the computer"... HELP!!!!!
