Dualbooting Windows 7 & OSX possible on my spec?
Hello,
i'm pretty new here and just want to know if my spec is possible for OSX and Windows 7 dualboot
i have Samsung R530 Notebook with below spec:
Intel Core 2 Duo T6600 2.2Ghz
4GB RAM
500GB HDD
nVidia Geforce 310M mobile graphics
i was able to install as per dualboot instruction and managed to partition and install both windows 7 and OSX (on different partitions) but when laptop reboots after successful install (saw the green check mark!!) it tries to load OSX but after darwin loading screen, it keeps rebooting the laptop
i'm not sure if its issue with Chameleon v2 or something else as when i checked the hardware info. before install, it showed unknown for video/graphics portion... maybe videocard is not recognized?
and as others report, i was not able to fix the booting for Windows 7 to be recognized again..... so i'm in the loop of rebooting OSX now
any help will be appreciated
Thanks
David

Hi there,
What flavor of OSX are you trying? Your 310 is very recent so that could be why it did not show up in hardware info. The reboot loop could be caused by that or other options that you select during installation. For video, don't select any driver, and you can use ATI ATY_init for injection, or after you get into OSX you could download new video kexts for it.

Hello,
i'm using a copy of OSX v10.5.7 iKtako(??) v7
i was managed to boot back into windows yesterday, but OSX still no go
i used Easy FCB to make the booting option work as well, but when i select OSX it does not seem to know where to go after that
i will try reinstalling OSX again with your advise and see how that goes
Thanks

Hi,
Is your partition for OSX a PRIMARY one? Chameleon boot loader can NOT boot to a Logical partition. You could also try Ideneb 1.6 Lite. Intel hardware works very well with it. When you in customize screen, take notes of all available choices, and your select options so when thing got stuck it will be easier to resolve.
