Voodoo Kernal / 4 GB Ram...?
Is this just an inherent incompatibility? I could never get my machine to a point where it wouldn't kernal panic within 24 hours with 4 gigs installed. With 2, it's stable.

Yeh some ppl reported something like this, and some reported compatibility with 6GB, so research a bit and report back

I think this may be the case. I tried one last time; used a IDE-SATA converter for my optical drive and removed all IDE cabling from my system in case it was an IDE compatibility issue. Tried to install iDeneb with 4 gigs of RAM. The install took, but like the previous installs with > 2 gigs of RAM, it became unstable, had a kernal panic and wouldn't boot within less than 24 hours.
Now I've sort of given up trying to get anything on this Phenom, especially given how easy it was to get a stable install on my MSI wind netbook
I've ordered a gigabyte motherboard and intel quad core and hopefully will have better luck with it. Maybe with vanilla kernal, I can even get things working with 4 gigs.

IMO, it's not the voodoo.
Like mine, I only have to replace 2 kexts (AppleNForceATA and NForceLan) to support my 4 GB. Never have KP since.

I had the same issue until I changed the 2 gigs of upgrade ram to a different brand. Voodoo seems to be picky about all ram being exact same timing, etc. Or maybe not. Heheh.
