Turn my daughter's Dell's into Hackintoshes
Hi guys,
I have done a heap of reading on the boards here but I'm still a bit stuck with where to start. I am a 24" iMac user but my daughters are suffering with clunky Dell's - an Inspiron 8600 notebook and a Dimension 1100 desktop. I would love to buy them MacBooks but simply can't afford it.
I have tried making Hackintoshes out of them but I have failed, the 8600 notebook wouldn't display at the native 1680x1050 and no wifi, and the 1100 desktop kept rebooting.
So.... I am hoping for a bit of guidance. I have a burnt copy of iDeneb v1.3 10.5.5 and am ready to give it another shot.
Thanks in advance guys!

the first step...
Go to control panel > system > device manager and make a list of the hardware you specifically have on any machine you want to put Mac OS on.
Specifically, what chipset are you running? What processor? How much RAM? What brand of LAN do you have? What sort of Wifi card? What sort of graphics circuitry? What sort of hard disk drive (SATA or IDE)? What sort of optical drive (SATA or IDE? DVD or CD-ROM?)
