What am I doing wrong?

I have 2 rigs and on neither one managed to install a distro, I would like your opinion too because I'm kind of noob when comes down OSX

Laptop: Samsung P500Y
Intel C2D T5450 @ 1,66ghz
mainboard chipset: ATI IXP600
video: ATI x1250
2 gb DDR2 667mhz
hdd 160gb Hitachi sata2
IDE DVD-RW drive
SCSI and RAID controllers : AGRM3HR4 IDE Controller
WLAN Atheros AR5007EG
LAN Marvell Yukon 100mbps fast ethernet
Broadcom 2045 bluetooth usb2.0 device
sound Realtek ALC262


Desktop:
Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe: Nforce 4, socket 939
AMD Opteron 140 @ 1,8ghz
hdd 250gb Western Digital, sata2
IDE DVD-RW dvrive
1 gb DDR1 PC3200 (2x512)
video ATI X850XT 256mb PCIex 16x


On both of them I tried to install distros of MAC (iPC 10,5,6; iDeneb 10.5.6; LawlessPPC-Leo-10.5.4-Phenom&AMD)
On desktop all of them gave to me " Stil waiting for root device".
On laptop:
- iPC:" Stil waiting for root device"
- iDeneb: " Stil waiting for root device" allthough it recognized the ATI IXP600 SATA chipset
- LawlessPPC-Leo-10.5.4-Phenom&AMD: recognized the ATI chipset but it gave an other error, something with SAM... an error regarding reading or writing

I need your advice to help me install at least in one rig.

Sounds like a compatibility issue with your chipset. I do not think it has support for either, try to google your motherboard specs on both and any possible success with hackint0sh.

About hackintosh I was talking too (iPC, iDeneb, LawlessPPC sounds to you like Genuine Apple Software ? :) )
I could figure out for my self that it something with hardware compatibility, but I am asking support to those of you fellows that have rigs with remotely the same configurations.
