seconded! I'd love to know which is best since from a n00b's perspective they all look complicated.

That is not a good question. Before install Mac you better research your hardware. There is not a distro that will collect your hardware info and install. Personnaly i liked IPC better then iDeneb and Kalyway. i never tried iATKOS. Do your homework and start with the IPC distro then move on if un satisfied.
