Chipset is NVidia nForce 410/430 MCP... Not sure how to check ACHI compatibility...
I would love to dual boot (seems easier in the long run) but I'm running Win XP...
For custom install files I've got:
iDeneb x86 Essential Patches:
AppleSMBIOS Drivers (Enablers and Patch)
VoodooPS2Controller (and Trackpad)
Mouse Lag Fix
Drivers --> Chipset
Not quite sure what I need/don't need here...
Ran another install last night with the Voodoo chipset, the cpus=1 fix, and the AppleNForceATA chipset drivers...
Install ran fine as per usual, but now I'm stuck with the "still waiting for root device" error which makes me think this is going to turn into a BIOs issue... Will post a pic when I get home tonight.
What is your hard drive type, SATA/IDE?
Did you look at the boot verbose to installation screen and notice what kext/driver was loaded for your hdd? Right at the line: Got boot device...
It may be one or two kexts needed for that. If your BIOS has AHCI for SATA mode then you may need to set it, and choose that for hdd. Otherwise those appleATA drivers may do it.
HDD is IDE, which is what I've been selecting for the VMWare drive,
What do you mean verbose for the installation screen? I was watching the install log from the Mac menu but it never said anything about Get Boot Device (I searched with the Finder after the install but before the reboot)
Look at your posted screenshot. The installation boot verbose would be similar.
There would be a line saying: waiting for boot volume......, then after that there will be a line saying: got boot device/volume....
Is that before or after the setup screen for the OS?

LOL... I'm a bit of a nob sometimes... Got it running though :D
But what does it all mean Basel??
So you got it through? :D
How is it running?
Basel? In what context?
I'm not quite sure I understand the question though :D
Look like it took the appleATA package as I suggest earlier. Is that what you select? Or that kext come from another package?
Good to know that you got it further. :D
Sadly, no... I meant that I got the -v install to run LOL...
(Was having trouble getting it to load for some reason... 3rd time was the charm...)
Stopped the install so I could take that screen shot for you...
As for Basel, he was a character from the first Austin Powers movie hahaha... As was the quote.
So from that got boot device message, any idea what other kexts I might need?
I thought you've read it. Along the line it says AppleIntelPIIXATA/PATA and that the kext it loaded to recognize your IDE hdd.
So in the selection, that kext probably in applePCATA package, and you could give it a try (you've never select this, correct?). There are only a couple others with appleATA so it won't be too hard for choices.
