post-fschk, "disk write locked", WELCOME woes
Hi all, I'm attempting to install single boot dual partition KALYWAY 10.5.1 install from dvd and I was getting the b0 error and now "device is write locked" woes.
I had 10.5.1 successfully installed and then went to Bootcamp Assistant and it said I needed to update my memory.rom bios so I flashed my bios and now I am unable to boot the HD. I formatted and repartitioned in DISK UTILITY, disk verification, repair disk permissions ya-da-ya-da and so I boot from dvd with -s to
/sbin/fsck -fy && /sbin/mount -uw /
touch /var/db/.AppleSetupDone
passwd root
disk1s2 is locked but that's the dvd, i know that.
I can't get my /Volumes/HAPNACK777
to be recognized but when I let it boot with-out pressing f8
it loads up and is in the freeze Welcome loop.
What is the deal, should I try formatting again and repartition ?? I was having alot of problems successfully installing it the first time but most of them seemed to be fixed with not loading the realtek network driver included on the KALYWAY dvd and with the above script work in boot -s mode.
Help please ?? I'm no pr0 but I aspire to let it be known that hp = hackpr0.
My motherboard is an Intel Mobile GM-45 Family on a HP 620 INTEL CORE 2 DUO SSE3.
Any help much appreciated !! Feels like an easy fix but I'm just not uber enough need some help
D So yeah also note that I did have it installed but then went to flash OEM bios to try to load bootcamp. That didn't work so I went to go reinstall xp on to the FAT-32 Partition from disk and it came out and I reformatted MBR in DISK UTILITY from the KALYWAY DVD and I still can't get it out of disk device is write locked. It's on WELCOME Migration Assistant loop atm when I let it load without pressing f8 (booting from dvd-it won't boot from hd) ..
I HAD it installed !! What did I do wrong other than not make a time machine entry or install Chameleon right away !!
