Default Is it possible to run Hackintosh with 8gb ram on-board?

I want to switch to mac some day, but i am not really sure if it's gonna work with large amount of memory. So, is it possible to run a hackintosh with more than 4gb RAM (for example, 8gb)?

I don't know. I have had no success getting a machine to be stable with anything over 2 gigs of RAM. Then again, my hardware has been restricting me to the Voodoo 9.5 kernal.
