Default Which distro best for USB install and old notebooks?

    Hi,
    My sys config is
    intel pentium m 1.5ghz MMX,SSE,SSE2, bus-99.7mhz, rated fsb-398.7mhz
IBM 2888AA2 board, intel i855GM/GME chipset
    256mb PC2700 166.1mhz ram
    40gb 4200rpm HDD

What ram and hdd should I get for a not so slow operation of xcode tools if install mac? Should I get a graphics card also and which one?

Which distro is best for the above specs? I have read iDeneb has lots of bugs. iATKOS has some bugs with SSE2 processors. May be, KALYWAY is good. I want to make 2 installations one on my USB drive and other on my notebook. Is the distro you are recommending also easy to install on a USB drive?

The only purpose for me to install mac is iphone dev. Please mention if iphone SDK may have any difficulties in installing in that distro. The distro has to be a hack of mac 10.5.5 or higher. Thats needed for the iphone SDK. Please help me guys.

    Thanks for your answers

Edit: RAM is 333mhz not 166mhz I had wrote. Yeah, I will add minimum 0.5 to 1gb to the current 256mb. My friend is telling me that my processor would not need more than 768mb ram. Any higher ram would not affect the performance much. Is true?

Which distro will run smoothly on my pc, usb drive with iphone sdk? iphone sdk needs atleast 10.5.6. Hope xcode tools wont be slow.

Should I worry about the max read/write operations of a USB drive? Any idea about the max number of read/writes of a USB drive?
