So in the selection, that kext probably in applePCATA package, and you could give it a try (you've never select this, correct?). There are only a couple others with appleATA so it won't be too hard for choices.
You're talking about selections under Chipset --> drivers right?
(Only place I'm seeing anything with ATA)... Will give AppleGenericPCATA, AppleATIATA, and JMicronATA to see if any of those work, will post back with results)

Only problem now is that it's not picking up my keyboard or mouse, lol... Both are USB. Will try the VoodooPS2 Controller (recommened in another post on these boards) and post back the result...
That is such a good news to hear. I know you can do it
How does OSX perform in virtual environment? Slow but is usable?
I'm working on the other way around, virtual Windows/Linux in OSX and so far still not get anywhere yet, as I've not actually worked much on it. Spending my time help others in this forum.

Everything runs smoothly install wise (if a little on the long end of things... 1.5-2 hours per install, times 10 installs or so it's taken to get me to this point, lol)... Things like partitioning the harddrive for the install don't take more than 20-30 seconds for a 20gb virtual drive....
I don't know how the actual OS works yet because I get stuck on the "Before we can start, please attach a keyboard to your system" screen, lol... Will run another install tonight with (hopefully) the right custom settings for my keyboard to work and we can go from there, lol

LOL...
Started installing everything with USB in the title under Fixes and Patches... And ended up stuck at the "waiting for boot" blah blah blah, hahaha...
Cutting back and trying one by one, but at an hour and a half per install this is taking some time...
We're gonna get it this time I'm sure! hahaha

Well, you will get it.
My turn to share something with you.
I got my main system virtual program working today.
Snow Leopard x64 are running with virtual/parallel WindowsXP and Mandriva Linux at the same time and did not slow down much (it has plenty of resource, core 2 quad CPU at 3.2 Ghz a piece and 8 GB of RAM).
The nice thing is WindowsXP is actually integrated into SL, not a small window inside SL desktop.
Figuring that Windows Internet Explorer is actually running natively, almost, side by side with OSX SL Safari 5 on the same desktop. What a friendship come true ever!

Looks like we both made out well today!!

Mine runs a touch slow, but I have an older system to begin with... Not doing any serious work on it anyway, just fiddling around before I can get home (I live in Canada, teaching in Korea atm, but am going home for school in the fall) and play with my new MacBook Pro, lol... Which I'll probably be picking your brain to install windows on! LOL
Just wanted to say thanks for all of your help! Couldn't have done it without you

You're welcome.
Glad to hear you got it and did not let me down
Virtual machine will be slower due to overhead, but for testing and some other purposes, you can't beat it.
Cheers
