How to install osx on a HP G60-511CA
Edit : Please dont tell me to google for information. I have done so, and come up with absolutely nothing. I have reached this thread
But it wasnt really that helpful as to my situation. Thanks for helping
To be completely honest, im not the newest to installing hackintoshes. Ive messed around with them on my previous older celeron d desktop and i got one perfectly running. Now that im playing around with laptops though, id like to be more safe and get a much more stabler version. What im looking for is a version of OSX that has the ability to use WIFI, ETHERNET, USB, and mouse and keyboard and the other basic stuff of my laptop... The laptop also needs to enter sleep mode when its closed, so something with that would be really usefull. Im also itnerested in dual booting but thats just a possibility. I can live using parallels or just OSX.
The model number of my laptop is HP G60-511CA and it is a
Processor : Pentium Dual Core T4300 clocked @ 2.10 GHz
Memory : 4 GB (i think DDR3)
Graphics : Intel GMA 4500M (Shared)
Card Reader (I dont really need this..) : SD/MMC/MS/MS PRO/xD
Webcam : It has a built in webcam (HP Webcam-101)
Audio : Conexant Pebble High Definition SmartAudio, Intel (R) High Definition Audio HDMI
Network Adaptors : Intel (R) Wifi link 1000 BGN, Realtek PCIe FE Family Controller
Mouse : Synaptics PS/2 Port Touchpad
Keyboard : Standard 101/102 key or Microsoft natural ps/2 keyboard with HP QLB
DVD Drive : hp DVDRAM GT20L ATA Device
Display Adaptors : Mobile Intel (R) 4 series express chipset family
Disk Drive : 320 GB HDD
and remember Any help given is GREATLY appreciated and remember, i need it so that most of the functions work, and that the laptop enters sleep mode once its closed.
Once Again, Thank you VERY much for helping
To be honest with you, and since you're not the newest, there are only two versions, that should be used on your hardware, OSX Leopard and SL, regardless of methods/distros for installation, as those are derived/mod from Apple releases.

That is why you are here, in hackintosh, if you really know what it means.
Lol, im confused, i thought kexts were pretty much drivers.... and if they are :S then isnt that all i need to run this properly? The correct drivers alongside the OS... :S
Yes, you are perfectly correct about hardware drivers. As Apple releases Leopard and Snow Leopard OS's, they are claiming that it will work perfectly with genuine Mac Hardware, and yes, that is mac pc.

Most of them are taking directly from Apple for the same hardware, some are modified if within the same hardware family. Some drivers (that are non existing in OE Mac, but are available from Linux OS's) are derived, only to certain limits, to make it possible as both OS's are somewhat based on the same Unix structure.
And yet, some drivers for certain hardwares are nowhere in sight. It is non existing as of yet, like your 4500HD onboard video card.

Well erm.... Im not looking for full out functionality after all, it is a hackintosh. All i need is for it to put the video onto the screen, which is know is possible since ive tried OSX and got it working to that point. Its just drivers like the Wireless stuff and sound and such that are messsed up. And especially the sleep mode
