    Give iDeneb a try.

Before you do it, find out what sort of chipset that your machine has, what sort of hard drive (IDE or SATA), and how much memory.

The specs you posted, at least initially, seem similar to my MSI wind.

Since I got the same machine as yours, I also bought the emachines EZ1600 and i would like to try to install iDeneb. But before I can do that, It is safe for me to use new/blank hard disk drive in case if anything would happen.

But the problem is, I don't know how to change my hard drive on this emachines EZ1600. Because I can't see any screw anywhere. Can you tell me how to open this case?

    thanks

You can open this computer with 2 points of turns screw dish which you insert into the junctions of the caps before and late located in top and bottom of the screen. Start with the medium and declipser gradually and with delicacy by making quadrant. to insist a little more on the edges of feet then draw in a homogeneous way not to break the clips. To remove the front cap, to unscrew the feet, to unscrew the screen which you will remove delicately because is connected on rear.after you can change the RAM and the hard drive to give again a whiplash with the machine. I also try me to install leopard on this computer, up to now without success I will try with another HD. I think that the problem is BIOS is locked, I search another to remplace it. Excuse me for my English but I am French and I am not gifted with the languages. As a result, it is the dashboard which translates. I hope to have helped you.
