    Default Error reading disc

    hi guys,

i was wondering if you guys could help me. i burnt an image of the retail 10.5.6 DVD to a dual layer DVD and during the installation, it says "There was an error reading your disc". everything starts fine.boot using the dfe image, swap for retail DVD and then while checking the disc for consistency, it comes up with the above mentionned error.
thanks in advance for your help.

So I boot up on the iso. Press enter to chose the mac os x leopard boot loader. I get to darwin x86. Then I remove the Iso from the DVD player and insert retail Mac os X leopard 10.5.1 Press escape and this is what it tells me:
'Enter two digit hexadecimal boot device [9f]. I tried entering 90 but nothing happens. So I then press 9f and enter. It's starts load. Then it is written something like 'search cpu multiplier and says RSDMR18#h may cause failure. This is really quick and I am writing this from memory. so sorry for the errors.
What am I doing wrong. I burnt the .iso a the slowest speed possible (x4 for me).

    My specs are:
    Pentium dual core 1.8 Ghz
    Asus P5VD2-MX mobo
    ATI x1800 GTO
    2048mb of ram
    Hitachi Sata Hard drive
    IDE DVD player.

    Thank you .
when you put the retail DVD in,just keep hitting Enter and it'll eventually start reading the disc.don't enter any numbers like you've been doing.

I tried it on a Dell 700m laptop, and got the Apple Logo screen which stayed on forever. This is a Pentium M laptop. Is that the problem?

Is there a different distribution that would work?

Smile for those that need ISO's

I have ipc, ideneb, iAtkos, kalyway and the chameleon 2.0 RC1 installer available for download. I don't provide any tutorials or support for osx86 but you can download what you need from: My Hangout Online — Blog Enjoy

Default using retail dvd on a different computer

hello i was wondering if anybody knows what happens if you take the os x leopard retail dvds that came with an intel based 13 " mac book and attempt to install them on an intel based 17" mac book pro that came with os x tiger...If I do a reboot from the newer dvds(leopard, the idea is to upgrade and reformat at the same time) will the installation work normally or are the disks designed with some sort of security interface that make them unrecognizable to computers other than the one they came with? thanks

    Geetings.

I have been working for what seems like forever to get a retail install done. I am new at this, so please hear me out. I used the .iso you provided, and was able to get the leopard disk doing something. After inializing, I getthis error 4 times:

    EBIOS Read Error: Error 0x32
    Block 16272264 Sectors 64

Then it procceds, and using -v I get this at the end of all the loading text:

    Still waiting for root device

    Over and over and over.

If you want a pic I can do that too, but any help is appreciated!

    System:
    Dell Inspiron 530s
    Intel Core 2 Duo E8400
    4 GB RAM
    500 GB Hard Drive

    Thank you all very much.
