    Default Extreme fixing.

    Hi to all, i a n00b here.

I've got my powerpc g5 since the end of 2004 and after a first logic board failure one year ago (costed me 500 to change it) I've discovered a new failure (technically it's a capacitor failure) and I should change my logic board once again (this time it turns on only sometimes ).

I've searched for a case similar to mine on this forum but i haven't found anything.

    So my question is:

Can I buy a pc motherboard, an x86 processor, connect everything on my existing system (videocard, hdds and burners) and, loading a new OSx86 system, expect it would work?

    If yes, then:

Knowing that I'm a 3d graphic artist (and I basically use adobe cs and maya) which motherboard/processor would you suggest me (holding the expenses below 250)?
    How many processors?
which OSx86 edition would work better?
Who wants my two g5s processor?

Thank you very much for all your help. I really don't want to give apple 600 for a piece of hardware that would costs only 80 if without the Apple tag on it.

Or is there a particular combination of processor/motherboard which works flawlessly with a particular osx86 distribution?

    Thanks.
