I was very happy to find some help here and really enjoy this forum, it's full of very interesting info !

Well,I'm intrested in computers since a while but I switched to Mac about 1 year ago and discover the amazing apple world.

I wanna build a computer and put OSX on it and, could you tell me if my hardware mix looks fine ? I tried to select some cheap and good stuff for a Home Theater PC.

Here is my selection , just tell me if something looks not compatible or something like that !

MB : Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS3

Pross : Intel Core 2 Duo E6300

RAM : OCZ Platinum EB 4Go DDR2 PC6400 CAS4 Dual Channel

Graphic Card : Asus Extreme N8600 GT Magic /HTDP 512Mo

Power block :Advance EA-460

Case : Asus TA-863

HDD : Samsung Spinpoint F1 - 1 To SATA II 7200trs/mn 32Mo (HD103UJ)

I don't have more detail for the moment because I didn't bought the hardware yet.
Do I need a SATA DVD Drive ?
Will the onboard optic sound out work fine ? ( or do I need to patch something ?)
If you know wich distribution I can use , I was thinking about iDened, does it work well?
I wanna find mmore detail for the installation, does anybody got a link ?

IM JUST WONDERING IF IM IN THE WRITE SECTION ? IF NOT MOVE THE THREAD

Everything will work, use iPC or iAtkos, you can even install Retail, try and good luck, report your progress in the installation forum
