Hi!

I need help deciding which distribution should I use.

My specs:

Model: Workstation Dell Precision M6300
Processor: Intel Core Duo T9300, 2.50GHz 800MHz, 6M L2 Cache
Ram: 4.0GB, DDR2-667 SDRAM
Gfx Card: NVIDIA QUADRO FX3600M 512MB
Wireless card: Dell Wireless 1505 Draft 802.11n Mini Card

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

I have the following computer collecting dust at my house. I also have a SONY Vaio I can cannibalize for parts. I now normally use Apple computers, but I'd like one more machine with OS X on it.

BTW, I have a legal unused copy of OS X. I'd like to install it on this computer.

I also have a couple of older graphics cards that might work if this one won't. One is an old Diamond Stealth, the other is newer--an GeForce FX 5200 graphics card w/128MB that came in a Sony PCV-R44G. I also have one newer video card that support 1600x1200 resolution presently installed in the Sony. I am not sure what it is. I think it is an Nvidia chipset it would be 256MB of memory and something higher than the 5200 card. Finally, I probably have a few 100BaseT ethernet cards laying around with Realtec chipsets-if I haven't tossed them out.

Hiya there, check the HCL, Now after reading you maybe can try a another distro... like iPC or iDeneb, or just try kalyway

Looks nice, try to disable HT Feature in the BIOS, then try to install iPC or iDeneb there, you need a patched kernel tho, like Voodoo or Speedstep.
