Hi Stuffie
I'm really new to this hackint0sh stuff.
I own a Optiplex 620 aswell.
Im trying to install iATKOS v7 in it but once I install the OS and try to make it boot the computer freezes on the grey screen with the apple on the middle.
What distribution did you use to install OSX on your dell optiplex gx620?

Changed to iATKOS v7
I changed the distribution to iATKOS v7 aswell and installed the kernel 9.7.0 and as said, the instalation was a success.
I had to reinstall the OS again to update the drivers for our broadcom lan card and its working fine.
Nevertheless I can't get the sound to work. When I go to the sound option on the System Preferences it says "No input devices found".
I tried to install what icchansan told DigitALL on one post but after the reboot nothing changed. Cold you tell me how you got the sound to work please?
BTW I can't change the display settings, any clue on fixing this so I can have a better resolution? Is it a videocard driver or monitor problem?
Thnx Alot.

GX520 iATKOS v7 no audio
Hi Guys,
I'm a OSx86 noob too, and finally managed to get iATKOS v7 working with a patched kernel too (9.5.7 I think). Got network working via the BCM5751 install option, but no sound working. Quite a few posts say to change a file under the AppleAC97Audio.kext folder, but that doesn't exist on my setup.
Anyone know any solutions? Or any hints on how to get the AC97 kext installed.
Aside from that, OSx86 looks great ... can't believe I haven't done it before. Once I get the wife converted over to OSX, I work on the funding for a MacBook Pro!
Cheers, Cam

Maybe this is the brand or something but we need chipset model
Soundmax Integrated Digital Audio
In my case is Realtek but whichone?
there lots of models
Index of /apple/AppleHDA/realtek
You guys need to find out the chipset model, for now maybe try with voodooHDA, google it and good luck
To find out your chipset try downloading everest full version and report back your results
