Choosing a distribution
Hi all!
I have two options to go with...
Setup 1: Asus A8N-E motherboard; AMD Athlon 64 3500+ (2.2GHz, One Core, 64-bits); nVidia GeForce 6600 (256MB); 2GB DDR RAM; Broadcom BCM4320 wireless
Setup 2: Canyon CN-9V4A-L motherboard; Intel Pentium 4 (2.66GHz, One Core, 32-bits); nVidia GeForce 6600 GT (128MB); 1GB DDR RAM; Broadcom BCM4320 wireless
I picked Kalyway 10.5.2 as the first setup has most hadrware supported (or at least tested according to the wiki) ...
I ran into an issue with both setups:
Setup 1: Installs when I drop RAM to 1GB, but doesn't recognize my PS/2 keyboard (can't fill in the registration forms). Don't have a USB keyboard available.
Setup 2: I pop in Kalyway 10.5.2, start the machine... it starts to load and then suddenly flashes "EFI enhanced boot..." something and reboots. It's an endless cycle and flashes so fast I had to watch it multiple times to actually piece it together what it says and even then I couldn't get the complete sentence.
Maybe I've just picked the wrong/dumb distribution for the setups? Or should I turn straight to the install issues forum? I mainly posted it here as I'm perfectly willing to go for another distributation.
Thanks!
