Do you think the installation could work ? Which distribution would be the best for AMD Processors ? Will I have, in order to install Leopard, to change the "SATA" mode of my hard disks and will it be possible on a laptop ?Which distribution would support my ATI graphic card ?
Thanks a lot,
Larry.

I'd Try iDeneb 1.6
I tried a ton of the releases and iDeneb 1.6 seemed to work well for me. The ATI drivers are kind of a bitch to find the correct kext (drivers). I finally got somewhat of the resolution working but no quartz extreme.
Here is the thread I used for my ATI Radeon Mobility 3650:
[12/18/2009 update]ATI HD framebuffer driver with src for test - InsanelyMac Forum
You WILL have to scour the forums for a while to get your answer. Took me about a month working on it for about 2-3 hours a day to get my core i7 with nvidia gtx260 fully working. Good Luck! Just don't give up and you'll get at least a 80% functional install.
EDIT: forgot to say use the Qoopz or Voodo Kernel for AMD
