Default Wifi not working - 3.1.2

    Hi guys,

I am having the exa ct same problem that many here: I have a 3GS iphone on 3.1.2 and firmware 05.11.07. I have jailbroken and unlocked using blacksn0w and blackra1n and as soon as I reboot the device after unlocking the wifi dissapears and won`t be able to find any other network that before it was able to find.

My issue is, there are different people suggestion different things but none of them seem to work for me:

    (1) Reseting network settings changes nothing
    (2) The airplone mode on/ wifi on/ restart/ airplane off does not work as well. Even if tried 5 times in a row as some suggested.
    (3) I cannot find any push fix package in cydia and yes I have added the indicated source before searching for the package.

Any further ideas? I have seen some people talking about a custom 3.1.2 trhough cydia but I need more info on how that works though. Your help is appreciated!

    tks,
    davi

    Default

    - restore stock fw
    - run blackrain for jailbreaking
    - restore custom fw
    - install blacksnow (use cydia)

    Question

Don't link to custom IPSW, that is against the rules of this forum.

I would recommend you try the Redsn0w 0.9 beta http://www.hackint0sh.org/f206/107325.htm instead.

    1. Reset network settings
    2. Restore 3.1.2 orginal software
    3. Jailbreak with redsn0w 0.9 beta
    4. Test if wifi is working
    5. Blacksnow (offline if necessary)

Also because you are on 3G, I would recommend you try fuzzyband baseband downgrader. Maybe this needs to be made as an offline package as well.

thanks olethros, just few questions, where can i download an IPSW that actually works with redsnow? i have a few but they are not working, its a 3G 3.1.2 8gb, actually i downloaded several IPSW files for this version and Redsnow doesn´t give me the unlock option

    thanks 4 your help

Exclamation Possible solution to the wifi problem!!!!!! READ THIS!!

guys! i had the same problem with mi wi-fi but after pushing buttons it worked!

this is the sequence of buttons and tasks i did...(iphone 3gs fw 3.1.2 updated bootrom)
1:turn off iphone run blackra1n and do not touch anything just keep the final dialog intact and the program open (initial thethered boot)
    2:airplane on / wifi off
3: turn off by sliding....(reset with home and power?) i didnt test...
4:with the phone still attached to the computer i turned it on wit for the itunes logo and then pressed the blackra1n window that says the iphone was ready to be used and all that stufff (on the pc) somehow the pic of geohot apeared on the phone but it was doing nothing.... and the program said "waiting for device"... so i waited a little the i turned off my phone and then i turned on so it started to boot with blackra1n (thethered) then the iphone booted up and voila! wifi back on business!!!!!....

i fixed my wifi after blackrain by:
    1. turning off wifi
    2. turning on airplane
    3. reboot
    4. airplane off / wifi on

and it worked. the iphone didnt need to be connected to the computer or something.
