Default stuck at Geohot's pic :(

Well, a strange thing happened today. Am using a 3GS with 3.1.2 (factory installed) and iBoot 359.3.2 (bought in week 43). Successfully JBed and unlocked using Blackra1n. Been using it since a month. Of course, to restart, I do a tethered one.
Today, installed some apps and after that, phone didn't detect wifi. So, did a reset network setting, phone went into recovery mode. Connected to PC, ran Blackra1n and pressed "make it rain". Phone showed geohot's photo but then is stuck there. Then, it cycles between recovery mode and geohot's photo. iTunes and other services not running.
    Any help guys?

Put the iPhone into DFU mode http://www.hackint0sh.org/f137/54082.htm
    Let iTunes restore it
    Jailbreak again with blackra1n
    Set iPhone up as new.

    That should hopefully fix it.

    Thanks Olethros. Will try that..

Btw Why does everyone suggest that phone should be set as a new phone? and not through backup? Any special reason for that?

It is a simple way to ensure that you remove any settings or files that may be causing instability or high battery drain and as such is a good first troubleshooting technique.

Basically restore from backup brings back too much, including some files that should be configured from scratch on each iPhone. Apple generally tests for and excludes files like this, however they do not test and exclude files that only impact users with jailbroken iPhones.

If you don't believe me, here is the same info direct from the dev team.

Your music and apps and all that will still be synced, but you’ll get rid of any conflicting wifi, bluetooth, or carrier settings.
