Seeking helpful knowledge from the HackintOsh community
Hey guys Oizzack here. It feels great to join HackintOsh community, I’ve recently jailbreaked my iPhone 3G using Blackrain.I then unlocked it in Cydia using blacksnow, I wasn’t on a payment plan/contract and so unlocking my phone didn’t do we a great deal of joy. I was wondering if anyone knows if I can use my phone on pay-as-you-go and still make phone calls, text messages and all the usual stuff. Oh and I live in the United Kingdom.
Thanks.

Thanks.
Yes you can jailbreak and unlock then use ANY sim card, even pay-as-you-go.
There is no such thing as a mistake, there is what you do, and what you don't do.

That's what I done but it still won't let be call or message. When I dial a number it just cuts off, for example I dialed 150 (T Mobile service number) and nothing happened. I have no idea what to do.

You don't say which country you are in.
If you are in the USA you have to turn off 3G if you are using T-Mobile but if, as I suspect, you are in the UK I would try reseting the network settings.
Is it showing a T-mobile signal?
He who asks a question looks foolish for 5 minutes. He who doesn't ask a question remains foolish forever.

Try restoring again then jailbreak and unlock using blackra1n, then use cydia to fix Push, Youtube and Wifi issues. Let me know how that works out for you.

I doubt this will fix it. I would agree with Confucious about resetting the network settings.
If that does not work, try a different SIM card, or a SIM from a different carrier to confirm if the problem is limited to a specific SIM card or account.

I just tried two brand new T Mobile (Pay as you go) sim's and one brand new O2-UK (Pay as you go) sim. None of them worked in the phone but they did work in other phones. I've tried reseting the network but they still didn't work. When the sims are in the phone does pick up signal and does display the networks name in the top bar. Anymore suggestions?

I assume the iPhone was originally locked to O2.
Don't know if you have tried the jailbreak with a non o2 SIM before.
If so, try restoring the iPhone OS, Inserting the t-mobile sim and jailbreaking using blackra1n then unlock using blacksn0w.
If that does not work, it is possible the problem is IMEI barring.
You say you weren't on a plan/contract, but what plan/contract was the iPhone on with the carrier it is locked to?

The phone was given to me and it was locked to O2. It could be IMEI barring I'm not sure, I was going to try ZiPhone to try and change the IMEI (I'm not sure if thats legal) but I'm not sure if their software supports new the new OS.

First find out if this theory is correct.
There are ways you can query your IMEI and see if it is blocked.
We don't discuss or encourage illegal activities on this forum.
It is illegal in the UK to own tools that can be used to change the IMEI (penalty up to a 5 year sentence)
ZiPhone will just screw your 3G iPhone stay away from it.
There is no software to do this on the 3G or 3GS iPhone.
