Those with 3GS new-bootrom who are stuck in DFU or DFU loop (cannot exit by holding down sleep/power and home for 30 secs) and don't have a SHSH on file for 3.1.2 or lower. You have no choice but to restore to Apple OS 3.1.3 via DFU mode. If that does not work, claim warranty on the iPhone.

hi,
Iīve also a similar problem. my 3gs with new bootrom stucks in a recovery loop. blackra!in or redsn0w couldnīt get it out.
I don't have a SHSH on file for 3.1.2 or smaller. the phone was unlocked and jailbroken bevor.
I just wanted to re-activate it regulary with a german t-mobile card in itunes to get apple care for iphone working.
I got the info to delete the Lockdown dir and keychain-2.db via ssh (i did a backup befor)

hello,
i think itīs a recovery loop. I see always the "connect to itunes" logo ...
(also after blackra!n etc.)
but Iīve deleted the Lockdown dir and keychain-2.db via ssh
I think the new firmware checks the modification and only a recovery is possible

I have done the same possibly hundreds of times without experiencing the same problem. I don't think it is the new bootrom. It could There must be another reason.Originally Posted by dreamfreak

I did nothing else at this point.
which devices and firmware did you modified ? I have a very new 3gs 32gb with 3.1.2 out of the box and the new bootrom. It was shipped with the new smaller usb powersupply from apple.
Is there a possiblility to get the phone out of the "connect to itunes" loop ?
what would you do ? wait for the next hacks/firmware (maybe 4.0 in sommer ...) or recover on 3.1.3 and use it as an ipod touch (I have a different phone carrier)
thx
