I have installed as per post 1, all seems to work 100% except official apps from the app store will not work. They seem to download and appear on the home screen but when you open them up it appears to start but then returns to home screen.

here is the fix for Push and youtube and gps Dtube is pointing us to instead of using Pushfix from DevTeam: Only for hacktivated iPhones
http://www.hackint0sh.org/f127/96716.htm
or if you activate with a legit sim, then you wont lose youtube, push, and gps
let me know if Im not understanding this correctly
thanks for helping me unravel my confusion
I had read a twitter from geohot that dev team had a push fix, then geo's site posted the push fix, so I ASSuMEd they were one and the same..
I hope the version you posted gets reduced to an app that can be installed from cydia
as push fixes go
is it correct that if someone uses Pwnage Tool custom ipsw for fw3.1.2 even with a 5.11 baseband, and allowing the custom ipsw to hacktivate, that pushfix is not needed?..
iow, all the push fix talk is specific to blackrain hacktivations? also, when using a custom ipsw with hacktivation, does youtube and gps work?
hence the logical conclusion, is it more functional to use a custom ipsw after jailbreaking and hacktivating with blackrain? all this specific to fw3.1.2 phones on bb5.11.07
Well... after blackra1n rc3 was released, I asked Geohot about his hacktivation vs. Dev Team hacktivation. Geohot concluded that his was problematic and he won't copy Dev's hacktivation. MuscleNerd then said Dev can make that available on Cydia. Shortly afterward, Geohot posted a link for pushfix (still on his blog), people started using it only to realize recently that things stopped working (youtube/push).
The pushfix that I mentioned was developed by Dev Team CPICH. It's not really for Cydia but for more experienced users. I don't think you will see it in Cydia because that pushfix must be used correctly for generating a certificate that won't crap out on you.Quote:

I believe so but let me test and report back.Quote:

Remember, this thing is 2 folds. One is for youtube to work and the other is for push-enable application to work. A person may be able to use youtube just fine but his push-enable app may not work.
using custom ipsw, i believe youtube works just fine but push-application most likely will not work.Quote:

GPS should work, most people complain gps does not work because either they don't have wifi or don't have data plan.
Personally, i prefer using custom ipsw because hacktivation is good, afc2 is included. I've only tested with an ATT activated scenario... I'll spend some time testing hacktivation and will report back.
I have a working 3.1.2 iPhone but with an older BB so ultrasn0w runs, how can I backup my certs so I can put them back once's I use blackra1n?
Thanks in advanced.
If you cannot activate legitimately, you should keep a copy of the push certificates on your computer (separate from the iPhone)
If you have not kept that copy, you can extract the working certificates from your iPhone by running nimble and then copying the four certificates to a safe place (and never sharing these with others)
Regarding ultrasn0w and moving to blacksn0w. I don't recommend this at all, you have more options if you stay with ultrasn0w baseband.
Guys, I have an iPhone bought from someone 500bucks. its locked to telstra. I tried to unlock, connected to iTunes, and it restored! so now i'm using 3.1.3 firmware. nobody can unlock it, so I call telstra for unlock it legally.
At the end of the phone, the girl said that it will be locked again by the first simcard installed to the phone!!! How crazy telstra! Does anyone know what should I do? Its no probs if I jailbreak my iPhone for sure!
