Default Possible to downgrade with this Iphone?

Hi there, I was wondering if this specific Iphone can be downgraded to 3.1.2 and then if a full jailbreak unlock is possible again.

I have been out of this scene for 2 years now, but got my hands on a new Iphone

    The phone:

    version: 3.1.3
    model: MB496B
    modem firmaware: 05.12.01

    Thanks in advance!

Based on your model you have a 3G. Because of this, it's possible to downgrade your OS to 3.1.2 if needed and jailbreak. There are scattered reports of people being able to successfully downgrade from the 05.12.01 baseband (which is currently NOT unlockable), but the short answer is:

    1) Your phone is jailbreakable. You can jailbreak 3.1.3 or you can downgrade to 3.1.2 and jailbreak.
    2) Your phone is not unlockable. Unless you happen to be the one in 50 people who can get BBUpdaterExtreme or FuzzyBand to downgrade your baseband.

Thanks for the quick reply, I couldn't have asked for more!

So I'll just wait for a while then I guess, maybe I'll give the baseband downgrade a shot this weekend!

Question has been asked many times before:
See iClarified - iPhone - How to Jailbreak Your iPhone 3G on OS 3.1.2, 3.1.3 Using RedSn0w (Windows) for redsn0w jailbreak instructions

See iClarified - iPhone - How to Downgrade Your iPhone 3G Baseband Using Fuzzyband for instructions on downgrade
Your serial number has to begin with xx828 or lower (the 3rd-5th digits are the key here) to have a chance at using fuzzyband.

There are a few versions of fuzzyband in Cydia, check the details and description to make sure you get the right version (you want one that can downgrade your baseband back to 04.26.08 - then you can use ultrasn0w to unlock)

Thread closed. Post in a fuzzyband or redsn0w thread if you need more help.
