I just bough a new 3GS today from Walmart. They still have week 37 units in stock so untethered JB is working. Unlocked on Tmobile and everything works great.

FYI I did not have a previously activated ATT sim . I used the one from the box and then just inserted my tmobile afterwards.

QUESTION:

I want to restore the backup from my old phone to get all my contacts, etc. Is this a problem? I have read restore from backup causes some issues with battery life, etc. Can some please comment on this.
