Iphone unlocking Help?

Can anyone help me. I am using ipjone 3 g. I have ver. 2.2.1 and firmware02.30.03. My question is can i unlock my iphone with blackra1n.???

Blackra1n is not an unlock. It is a jailbreak.

Would not recommend blackra1n in your situation at all.

update to iPhone OS 3.0.1 and jailbreak with redsn0w http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=4301
and unlock with ultrasn0w
http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=4253

Then if you find things work well at 3.0.1 you can restore a custom iPhone OS 3.1.2 made using pwnagetool 3.1.4 and then re-install ultrasn0w to unlock again.

This is a very safe approach to jailbreaking and unlocking your iPhone.

Blackra1n by itself will not unlock your iPhone and the process of preparing your iPhone will permanently remove your ability to unlock using ultrasn0w. You then only have the option of unlocking using blacksn0w which has not reported the same high success rate that ultrasn0w has reported.

One more question plaese.
After i jailbrake my iphone, can i disconect from computer and unlock later , beacouse i dont have wi fi at home?

Yes of course you can perform the unlock later.

I don't understand how backing up contacts has anything to do with unlocking.

Can you please clarify your question, maybe this discussion belongs in another thread.

I have a 3G, FW 3.1.2, BB 5.11.07 and have been trying to unlock this phone with Blacksn0w for quite some time. Everytime I do this I get searching, then No Service. Here are the steps I used:
1. Restore to offical IPSW
2. Connect to CPU and run Blackra1n
3. Connect to WiFi and DL/Install Sn0w
4. Wait a few minutes and I get the abovementioned error.

I have also used the no WiFi install of blackra1n and Sn0w via diskaid, no luck either. Finally, I have even tried downgrading to earlier firmwares to try an d unlock with Ultra or Redsnow, but still no luck.

This phone that I have was bought off ebay and locked to at&t. I know this shouldn't matter but, I am lost as what to do next. By the way I live in Germany and operate on TMobile.De (the offical carrier of iPhone in Germany) Any help would be much appreciated.

Does it find a network with the original AT&T sim?
Have you tried the standard troubleshooting steps? "reset network settings" "disable 3G"? "SIM from another carrier?"

I talked to the person that I bought this iPhone from and she said she was using at just fine in the California. As far as the standard troubelshooting steps, all completed and still no luck.
