Hey iam new here.. i dont know if this is the right place to post this but i recently got an iphone 3G yesterday and it was unlocked..i was using my Tmobile sim card just fine until i did a sstupid mistake and updated the software version to 3.1.3. After i did that.. i tried to unlock the phone again and when i did..the phone would not read the sim card. So this moring i Restored it and know iam stuck at the screen were it says, "Slide for Emergency" in like 20 different languages..and on that screen it says insert sim card when my sim card is already in there!! And everytime i restore the phone..it gives me the same screen! Please i would really appreciate any help ASAP..Thanks.
hi........ there is no any unlock tool for 3G firmware 3.1.3. you have to wait for it. i have the same problem too and i try everything with different methods but fail but can jailbreak your iphone. it will activate your phone but your sim will not work.
iphonecase: You're posting old/incorrect information on a thread that has been quiet for several months that doesn't solve the OP's issue. Please don't do that. blacksn0w is not the recommended unlock for anyone at this point, nor has it just been released.
As far as unlocking a 3GS with 3.1.3, the best option (pwning the phone with PwnageTool or redsn0w) requires you to have an SHSH on file either for 3.1.2 or 4.0, 4.0.1, and then to restore to that OS and jailbreak. Alternately, you can use Spirit with iOS 3.1.3 to jailbreak the device (but that requires you to be able to legitimately activate the phone once before you can jailbreak, so you need a legit SIM), and then install ultrasn0w -- ultrasn0w supports the 3.0-4.0 basebands and will allow you to unlock. This is the less preferred (but easier) method, as this does not pwn the phone at a low level. You would want to install the Spirit2Pwn package on your device after the install of the OS and jailbreak in order to pwn the phone so that you're on the jailbreak train for future updates.
