Firstly you may have gotten incorrect information from customer service.

You need to ask Telstra if the original contract has been paid off. This is usually 12 or 24 month contract. If that has been paid off then they should be able to properly unlock it.

If the contract has not been paid off, they have no obligation to permanently unlock it as they still are entitled to receive subsidy on the phone.

You should also check if you have been signed up for a new 12 or 24 month iPhone plan, which is pretty evil as Telstra are double dipping if they do that.

Your best bet, especially if the remainder is not huge is to ask how much was left on the old plan and pay out the remainder. That is assuming Telstra let you do this.

Keep copious notes and threaten to take it to the telecommunications ombudsman if they are difficult.

Which method? blacksn0w or authorised unlock? Also baseband 05.12.07 does not exist (outside of Apple) - you either mean 05.11.07 (3.1.2) or 05.12.01 (3.1.3) or maybe even 05.13.03 (4.0 beta 1)

No, blacksn0w ONLY works with baseband 05.11.07 on 3.1.2 or (with RC2 on 3.1.3). There is no public unlock for baseband 05.12.01 yet. It is nearly certain that a working unlock is being developed/tested by one or more of the jailbreak teams but they won't release it until the next gen iPhone is released in June/July as they hope it might work for that phone as well.

First and foremost, you will need an AT&T sim card to activate (without this your Youtube.app will not work. If you can get one of your friends to lend it to you for 10mins that would be awesome. (Your iPhone must be connected to your Wifi) Follow the process and once your iPhone restarts it will continue to say "Waiting for Activation, This make some time." Slide to Unlock then tap blackra1n app on your iPhone.

5. Please tap only "snow" and click install. DO NOT install Cydia or Rock from the blackra1n app at this moment.

6. If when installing "snow" freezes press the home button and reload
blackra1n app and try re-installing snow.

7. Take out your AT&T Sim card and insert your own sim card.

8. Go to Settings>Network>Cellular Data Network> Enter your APN. (Don't forget to turn off your 3G settings)

9. Your iPhone should display "iPhone Activated" anytime now.

10. Go to Settings> Turn Airplane Mode ON> Hold down Power Button and shutdown your iPhone, wait a 30 seconds or so then turn your iPhone back on.

11. Go back to Settings> Turn Airplane Mode OFF. This should enable Wifi. (If your Wifi still does not work, either you can follow steps 10 & 11 until you get a Wifi connection or follow step 13 to fix Youtube and Wifi. There is a flaw with Wifi during boot up of the iPhone due to blackra1n unlock)

12. Install Cydia from the blackra1n app on your iPhone at your own risk. (Complete upgrade Cydia as necessary)

13. Wifi and Push Fix can be implemented within Cydia. Push, YouTube, & WiFi issues are caused by hacktivation. To fix this issue, add http://cydia.iphoneil.net/ as a source, return to Section and look for "iPhoneil Utilities", install "Push Fix & Youtube".

I am @ Jailbreaked 05.11.07 (3.1.2) with 6.04 bootblock ( unlocked to BiH mobile provider without any AT&T card - used my own IPCC ) ... no problem with reboot or turning phone OFF / ON ?!?!?

Everything works : GPS, Tethering, WiFi, 2G, 3G, GPRS, EDGE, Youtube, PUSH notifications, SMS, MMS ...

I didn't use anything more than plain Blackrain, blacksn0w RC3 ?!?!?

Can someone explain why all other ppl have soo much problem ?

How did you get push notifications working on a hacktivated phone with *just* blackra1n? I doubt this very much.

The rest should work for everyone if the phone is configured properly (a small percentage of blacksn0w users experienced a race condition that caused wifi and restart problems. This is fixed with blacksn0w RC2)

Hi Guys/Girls,

I need your help.

I was re-flash my iphone firmware to 3.1.2, and i forgot that it will changed the basband to 05.07.11. Now, it is locked and cant be unlocked. My bootloader is 5.09, so cant downgrade baseband.

I tried many many ways to unlock my iphone but fail.
1) Re-flash to 3.1.2, and jailbreak using redsnow, cant unlock as is baseband 05.07.11. fail!
2) Re-flash again to 3.1.2 using custom firmware, cant unlock
3) Re-flash again to 3.1.2, use blackra1n to jailbreak, but seems like when i make it ra1n, it stucks at entering recovery and didn't move.

What actually had happen? Is there any other way to unlock my phone again? Anyone know when will DEV-team develop the the software to unlock baseband 05.07.11??

Please help if you guys have did it.

I don't mine using any software, i just want to unlock my phone. Can blacksnow be found in cydia if i unlock with redsnow? As i already jailbreak using redsnow.
