Now that FW 3.1.3 is available and can be jailbreaked using snowbreeze V1.5.1, can it still be unlocked via Blackra1n????

You are confusing blackra1n (jailbreak) with blacksn0w (unlock)

It is not possible to use blackra1n to jailbreak OS 3.1.3

Yes, you can use pwnagetool (please don't use sn0wbreeze, it is not as well tested as pwnagetool) to restore to OS 3.1.3 but preserve your baseband at 05.11.07. The problem is blacksn0w will not work on OS 3.1.3 even with the 05.11.07 baseband. It could be possible for geohot to update blacksn0w to work with 3.1.3/05.11.07 - no idea if that will happen.

This highlights one big reason why I try to recommend the devteam's tools, they are generally built with a little more forward planning included so they often end up working in future OS versions. Redsn0w 0.9.2 for 3.1.2 supports 3.1.3 on most iPhone models. Ultrasn0w from OS 3.0 is still working on 3.1.3 with carefully upgraded phones.

Geohot's approach to jailbreak and unlock prefers speed and size over flexibility and future proofing.

Sorry for misinterpreting black snow with blackra1n, so should wait till release for blacksnow unlock compatible with Fw 3.1.3 as I am a windows user. Thx do much for the clarification.

There is no guarantee that blacksn0w will ever be updated to work with 3.1.3

Stay with 3.1.2 now, it is a much safer option

Windows user can still download pre-made ipsw that were made with PwnageTool.

As mentioned earlier, sn0wbreeze will not be recommended on this forum. The dev team do not recommend it's use (due to both reports of problems and the fact that it includes devteam code/tools without permission)
