3GS with firmware 3.1.2 and baseband 05.12.01

I got my iPhone 3GS downgraded to 3.1.2 with the baseband of 5.12.01 and after restore cydia is there again but it will not open. What happened???

if you still have the blackra1n icon on or iphone, try to reinstall cydia.

I have heard of this issue recently as well.
I am not sure why.
One suggestion is to use redsn0w 0.9.2 to jailbreak + add cydia.

Try that and report back please.

Hi, how did you manage to downgrade to 3.1.2 and jailbreak it?

This is only possible if you already have your SHSH for 3.1.2 or lower backed up.

How can you back up your SHSH? Is there anyway of getting this file from anyone here on the forums? My phone messed up and so I had to reset by hold home+power and plugin the USB cable. iTunes restored it with 3.1.3 and now I can't put blackra1n on it!!!

Is there any way I can downgrade or change the modem firmware?
Any help would be appreciated!

You are stuck. You should not have restored 3.1.3

See Apple Stopped signing 3.1.2 today for more information regarding SHSH.

There is no way to downgrade or reload modem firmware. For a 3GS, the modem firmware can only ever be upgraded.

So I am not sure how but I have my 3g with 3.1.2 but also have the baseband at 5.12.01. Its jailbroken just fine but cant get it to unlock for tmobile. used blackrain and ultrasnow. wanted to try yellowsnow but the repo is down or something... cause it wont connect to it.

anyone know of a way to get around the 5.12.01 ?

Try fuzzyband downgrader from Cydia. If that does not work, you are stuck for now with no unlock.
