3G Connectivity Issue after Unlock
I have an iPhone 3G that was previously unlocked using Ultrasn0w. This weekend I decided that I would take the big leap and update to 3.2.1.
To update, I restored the phone using the latest firmware, loaded blackra1n, and blacksn0w using Wi-Fi.
The update went flawlessly, but now when the phone is put to sleep (by clicking the power button once) and woken up again (by pressing the power button again and sliding to unlock), I have an issue with 3G connectivity. If I go into Safari and try to load a webpage, the page does not load. If I then click the X to stop, and then refresh the page, my 3G connection resumes normally and the webpage loads. During this process the 3G symbol at the top of the springboard is constant (ie it does not disappear or change).
While this issue is relatively minor, it is frustrating, and I would like to know if anyone has any ideas on how to solve this issue? In case it helps, the phone was originally purchased in America for the AT&T network. I now use the phone on Australia's Optus network. The phone has worked perfectly on that network with the Ultrasn0w unlock for the last 6 months.
Thanks in advance and Happy Holidays!
Correct me if I am wrong,

If so, why would you think ATT 3G is the same as Optus? They run on two different networks, two different APN's.
If I am correct, then you do not have 3G, you must turn 3G off under settings. Leaving 3G on will not load your pages on safari or any other network connected apps.
There is no such thing as a mistake, there is what you do, and what you don't do.
iPhone is a multiband phone. It works on networks around the world. I have been using optus for 6 months with no issues, now I have updated to 3.2.1 and I have this new problem.
Thanks for your idea though!
See if fuzzyband downgrader works for you.

There was absolutely no reason for you to upgrade your baseband to a version that requires blacksn0w to unlock. This is a very common misconception and it is difficult to get people to realise that pwnagetool and ultrasn0w offer a superior jailbreak and unlock on OS 3.1.2
