Default 3.1.2 unlocked and untethered iphone 3gs

    Hey,

    I have a 3gs, 3.1.2, unlocked and jailbroken via blackra1n.

It is an untethered unlock and jailbreak, and i can restart it and retain both the unlock and jailbreak.

I have not stored my 3.1.2 hashes, only my 3.1.3 hashes via cydia.

It is working fine at the moment, but if i ever need to restore it, can I restore to 3.1.2 even though the hashes are not stored anywhere, or can i upgrade to 3.1.3 and retain my baseband using a custom 3.1.3 firmware.

    Any help will be appreciated.

    Thanks.

If you have the untethered jailbreak, you can restore custom 3.1.2 IPSW - this will get you out of 99% of the situations if something goes wrong.

The only case where you can't use custom IPSW is if your NOR gets corrupted (this could only happen when changing boot logos or if you loaded a corrupt custom IPSW). If your NOR is corrupted, then you could be dropped into DFU mode, this mode will NOT accept custom IPSW only a valid IPSW with correct SHSH.

To be pedantic - you did not unlock with blackra1n - your unlock is performed via blacksn0w. It is important to understand this distinction.

How would I create a custom 3.1.2 custom firmware?

And would a shift + restore button on itunes restore it?

I think mine has the older bootrom, thats why i can restart it without having to blackra1n it!
