Problem with blackra1n (has worked perfectly until yesterday)
Hi all. I'm having this problem with blackra1n on my iPhone 3GS 3.1.2 baseband 05.11.07. Yesterday it showed "No Service", so I thought I'd reboot it to possibly fix it. However, this time, as I went to reboot it with blackra1n, it took like 5mins minimum to boot it (showing geohot's face all the time) and then, when it finally boots, it just goes back to recovery mode. I'm running out of tricks, 'cos I've literally tried everything I've been able to find by searching thru google. Any tips would be appreciated..
Regards

Have you tried to re-run blackra1n? Some 3GS devices with newer bootroms need a tethered jailbreak, meaning every time the device fully powers off you have to kickstart it with blackra1n or similar. Don't know if this is your issue as I don't know your bootrom version, but if you're running 3.1.2 it's a possibility.

Thanks for trying m8, but yeah. I had tethered jb from the start. I've ran blackra1n 'bout 30 times today, with no luck. Guess it's time to move to 3.1.3 so I can atleast use my iPhone without jb tho. It's just a nice looking damn expensive paperweight atm

LOL, yeah I figured you'd probably know it was tethered but you never can tell on these forums. Do you have the SHSH on file for 3.1.2/3.1/3.0.1/3.0?

I honestly thought I had saved it via rock, but apparently I didn't do it. So now I'm using 3.1.3 with 05.12.01.. Kinda sucks tho :S I have the official carrier card, and am with THEM now
But I miss jailbreak ;(

Hello Guys,
I got the same problem with my 3gs 32Gb, blackra1n kept looping and phone stuck in DFU mode.
I finally resloved to install 3.1.2 but Itunes retruned an error and said that my phone was not aligible for the update!!
before giving up I did rebot my machine and changed the usb port to which the iphone was connected and it worked!!
I don't know if it's rebooting the machine or changing the USB port that fixed the issue, but now my phone is back to life!
I hope my small contribution will help someone with the same issue.

I have the same problem.
Installed VoIpover3G, restarted and now i can't get back :/
Is it possible to connect to the device via USB while in Recovery/DFU mode? Maybe if i than delete Cydia i could rejailbreak the device.
Is there any software out there, that allows to browse / access the device while in recovery mode?
Thanks and BR,
Matjaz
