RESOLUTION: Blacksn0w Reboot Loop / No WiFi Signal / Reset Network Settings / Unlock

Hello fellow bootloopers,
i just joined this forum cuz im also stuck in this bootloop for a full month now.
I read every thread on the world wide web about the bootloop and none was any useful.
iphone 3gs 32 gb 3.1.2 new bootroom (nothin saved on sauriks server)

Im really frustrated, especially since an 3.1.3 unlock exists but wont be released. I mean ok ill get why its not released....but at least GeoHot could look into that problem and update his blackra1n. Or at the very least he could warn people on his webpage that this bug exists!!

Anyway i´ll keep on letting it ra1n all day long. But at some point in this near furture ill update to 3.1.3 and just use it as an ipod touch.

Who knows maybe someone comes up with a more sophisticated solution.....

The Blackra1n I downloaded is not from ih8sn0w. Anyhow, this modified one seems to work. I notice that both iTune and Blackra1n needs to be running to get it going. iPhone needs to go into recovery mode by holding the Home button, then plug in to the USB. Blackra1n (modified for iTune 9) will recognize and the Geohot screen will show up on the phone.

Right now I don't have any luck after the phone restart, it still seems to go back to the logo loop.

We can't just support any "modified" version of blackra1n that you happen to find on the net. Blackra1n has a documented bug/incompatibility with iTunes 9.1 - this is lazy programming by geohot - he won't issue an update to fix this either.

Reports are that you can simply copy and run the original blackra1n RC3 from within the directory C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support and it will work.

Hi all,

With my Iphone, the first bootloop occured after booting with no wifi, i chose to reset network settings (after reading about it in the web) and then reboot and got stuck in the loop. After the first night of leaving it in the loop i was able to get out of it with wifi!

unfortunately after about 2 weeks that everything was fine, my phone has sunddenly rebooted by itself, this happened a couple of times after which i had no wifi, a couple of reboots + blackrain each time wifi was fine.

untill a few days ago, multiple reboots + blackrain did not help and i booted with no wifi each time.

At that point I have decided to try the method mentioned here - removing the blacksn0w.dylib and copyin the original com.apple.CommCenter.plist,
I used this one i found in another forum:

After doing this my phone was back in the loop :(
Left it in the last couple of nights, after tens or hundred windows of blackrain, eventually the loop stops, i dont know if it's because the windows stops recognizing the usb device or because the blackrain window seems to be non responsive. anyway the phone is stuck in recovery mode :\

any help would be greatly appreciated!

I am in the same position. Blackra1n has gone through the loop over a hundred times in the last 36 hours... I am ready to just throw in the towel and upgrade to 3.1.3, even though the modem isn't unlockable.

If there is any hope that anybody has seen a way to drop the modem back, install custom firmware, restore to 3.1.2, or to unlock the 5.12.xx modem, please post! I'm ready to just sell it and move on... I just loved my iPhone!!

Restoring to 3.1.3 (even with SHSH for 3.1.2) is not worth it for you.

There may be multiple causes that create similar bootloop symptoms. Keep trying.

There is no way to unlock or downgrade 05.12.01 modem on 3GS
Spirit only works on legitimately activated iPhones.

i am so worry about to face same problem i faced, so what i have to do ?
will i face the same problem when i want to restart my Iphone ?

This is a different problem. Try the restart option in that dialog. If that does not help try and find out what mobile substrate addons you have installed. If you have SBSettings installed it has an option for this.

If I press restart it will restat Iphone? and it will doesn't restart again and need to use same solution ?
