Reality is that comex is currently polishing up Spirit2 (or whatever it will be called) that will jailbreak 4.0 (and maybe 4.0.1) - so if Mike Cohen has any smarts he should wait for 4.1 to be released before using his exploit.
After comex's new JB, he has no more exploits that can be used for another JB - so unless he finds some more, don't expect any more userland JBs from comex.
At least one of the exploits discovered by Geohot were also independently discovered by ChronicDev Team and the iPhone Dev team. So unless geohot had more than one exploit remaining - it is quite possible that another team will release a JB using the same exploit before Mike Cohen can make it ra1n.
This would be a similar situation to 3.1.x where redsn0w, pwnagetool and blackra1n all used the same exploit to JB 3GS and 3rd gen iPod touch.
I understand it has been discussed I was just posting the news as I didnt see a thread on it.
But thank you for the details that would help others.
