Blackra1n wont work after 6 attemps? whats wrong? Please help !

Ive tried to install blackra1n to jailbreak my iPhone 3g after restoring to 3.1.2 firmware. It does the process but I never get the geohot picture, instead my phone goes on a blank screen till it turns itself off after several minutes, the blackra1n window stays on 'done, wait for reboot' along with the 'enjoy your jailbroken iPhone' window.
Then if I manually turn it on, it wont turn on again, instead it goes to the usb, arrow, itunes logo. iTunes would need to restore again to connect to the phone. So I have to do the firmware 3.1.2 restore again, which works 1 out of 10 times I have no clue why.

Has anyone been dealing with this issue and solved it? Ive been researching for the last 4 days with no luck and Im about to loose my mind !!

You need to provide more details... The earlier versions of blackra1n were not so reliable with 3G model iPhones. Are you sure you have RC3?

Why not use redsn0w 0.9.2 instead? Redsn0w uses an older and better tested method to pwn/jailbreak 3G phones. Blackra1n is really an inferior jailbreak to redsn0w. There has been a lot more post jailbreak complaints and problems reported from blackra1n than redsn0w.

Have you found a solution to your problem? I am having the same problem trying to get this 3GS jailbroken and I am not having any luck. Is your iPhone disabled by anychance?
