JB & UL 3.1.2;5.11.07, but itunes 220.127.116.11 still wants ATT activation!
I have a new, 3g unactivated iphone that i JB & UL with the most recent version of blackra1n (& snow) software from GeoHot's site. Unfortunately, when i try to use itunes, it still demands i formally activate my phone, whether or not the factory-installed ATT sim is inserted. I can confirm that my phone is JB, but I don't know how to confirm that the unlocking worked without another carrier's sim.
Must i also use a work-around for activation? I got the impression that unlocking the phone should have done the trick. I've researched activation programs (seem a bit outdated) but was unsure how they would work with an already doctored phone.
I do have an ATT (non-iphone) sim that i can use for activation, if necessary, but i really don't plan to use the iphone for traditional calls.
Thanks in advance for your help...
I'm very confused by your statement:
What exactly do you want to do with your iphone ?
but i really don't plan to use the iphone for traditional calls.
Use it with a non ATT SIM ?
Anyway, if you want to jailbreak + hacktivate + unlock the phone so you can use it with another carrier then do the following:
- restore the phone using stock firmware 3.1.2 (NOT 3.1.3) by shift-click restore and select the stock firmware.
- get redsn0w 0.9.2 and run it to jailbreak the phone
- run Cydia on the phone, add in source http:// blackra1n.com and then install blacksn0w unlock.
